    An ordinary computer performs one calculation at a time.
    Very, very fast. But one calculation at a time.
    Imagine we could perform millions of calculations at the same time.
    This would give us access to engineering and technological problems that are
    currently unsolvable.
    Now imagine that we could do this with thousands of times less energy.
    This is precisely what colleagues of mine in the EU project Bio4Comp are doing together
    using a bio computer.
    We are not using zeros and ones. And we are not building a quantum computer.
    Instead we use muscle proteins that explore a nano labyrinth.
    In this way it can solve many calculations at the same time.
    If this sounds like science fiction, it's not.
    We have already done this for small combinatorial problems and now we are scaling up this technology.
    But we need your help!
    Because we could do this much better if we were able to encode information into molecules
    and then be able to read out that information afterwards
    for millions or thousands of molecules at the same time.
    We believe that you may know how to do this.
    And that the technology and biochemistry or nanotechnology already exists how to do this.
    Therefore we have announced a 5000 Euro cash award
    and we are looking forward to your idea and your application before August 15.
