Hey there YouTube. Thanks for stopping by the Keyfactor channel. My name is Niko Ruhe, and I'm a solution architect here Keyfactor. Today we'll be talking about switching PKI management vendors After overseeing the implementation of our products for customers mainly in the large healthcare and IOT spaces, I've noted that some of these customers actually came to Keyfactor after developing operational friction with their previous PKI management vendor. Since you're watching this video, maybe you have encountered some of the same problems, but have not yet acted because of the unknowns in cost, time and user adoption in making a PKI management switch. After personally moving many of our clients from their previous management vendor over to Keyfactor, the process is not actually as difficult or costly in practice as it may seem on the surface. Data is king in PKI solutions. Migrating with ease and scalability can actually be attained by following these three steps. Step 1: migrate your data with scripting and bulk operations. Life is too short for long drawn-out data transfer processes. Keyfactor can assist you in leveraging our competitors APIs to perform bulk data migrations. Once the data is migrated out of your existing solution, the remaining work is to perform bulk import jobs of certs, private keys and metadata into our database using PowerShell or any other scripting language of your choice. Step 2: populate data in your existing infrastructure with agents and gateways. When these are deployed in your existing PKI, you can inventory and manage certs based on your organization's priorities. Agents can be used to scan various port ranges in CAs, then they inventory and report back on certificates they find. Gateways on the other hand, allow for integration of CAs across forests as well as many of the third-party public CAs, like digi-cert, comodo etc. And here's a quick pro tip: Migrating to a Keyfactor cloud hosted solution allows the integration of your existing hardware while also getting you a brand-new PKI in the cloud. Step 3: enable parity with your existing solution and surpass it. How? By working with the right people. It seems easy enough, right? And that's because it should be. We've accommodated a wide variety of change order and contract timeline considerations to make our clients' transitions as straightforward and pain-free as possible. And based on feedback from some of our clients who have made the switch, the cost savings just end up speaking for themselves. While hopefully this video eased your mind a bit more on the not so daunting task of switching to a PKI management vendor that's right for you, you can learn even more in our blog linked in the description below and on our website. And as always, if you have any additional questions about migrating solutions, Keyfactor's offerings, or just want to talk about PKI with some pretty cool people, just reach out and someone will be there to help you get the answers you're looking for.
